Istanbul was the capital of the Roman Empire for a long period. The city’s golden age, was between the 2nd Century AD and the Crusader invasion of 1204 which destroyed the city. Millions of tourists visit the ruins of the Hippodrome, which supposedly had a capacity of 70,000 spectators, as well as Hagia Sophia and Saint Eirene Church which were built nearly 2000 years ago. Many buildings now exist over the city walls, ancient monasteries, columns and even sculptures. Artefacts excavated here are now housed in World-famous museums.
Modelport has completed the 3D architectural drawings for the historical city which was situated in the area between Seraglio Point, Cemberlitas and Yenikapi. Imagine a live action re-enactment of horse races held in the Hippodrome of the 2nd Century… We recreate the historical city with all its architecture to the extent that they exist in archival material. We will soon have it all on display, fully animated for you to enjoy.
